Gabe Adiv, Founder & CEO

Music industry veteran, Gabe Adiv founded TuneUp Media in 2007. Prior to TuneUp, Gabe spent five years in sales and channel marketing at Gracenote, the industry leader in global metadata and enriched content solutions. Before joining Gracenote, Gabe spent his career in sales, marketing and business development, playing pivotal roles in several entrepreneurial ventures including WebTV and MyPersonal.com. Coupling his invaluable insight and experience from Gracenote with his undying enthusiasm for music, Gabe has guided TuneUp Media to Series C funding and exponential growth. As Founder & CEO of TuneUp Media, his involvement ranges from the acquisition of funding, to the oversight of marketing and business relationships, as well as overall product strategy and vision. His leadership, entrepreneurial drive, taste-making instincts and passion for music have paved the way for TuneUp’s growing success.

During his time off, Gabe enjoys surfing, seeing live music, and spending time with his three-legged dog, Miles. Gabe has an interdisciplinary BA in Sociology, Business and Eastern Religion from Michigan State University.

Greg Nuyens, Chief Technology Officer

Greg Nuyens is Chief Technology Officer at TuneUp Media, where he oversees the product development process, operations and customer support.  In his more than twenty five years of experience as a high tech entrepreneur, he has served in a variety of executive roles.  Most recently, he was Founder & CEO of Teleplace, provider of virtual spaces for enterprise collaboration, with corporate customers such as Fidelity, BP, Intel, USDA and DoD. He has served as CEO of Devicescape, CTO of Neomar (now part of Motorola), and Chief Technologist at Inktomi. Earlier roles included Co-Founder at Ilog (now part of IBM), Director at Sun Microsystems and Researcher at Xerox PARC and Xerox AI Systems.

Greg holds a MS in Computer Science from Stanford University and a BS in Computer Science from Carleton University. In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis, hanging out with his children and flying remote control planes.

Michael Cunniff, Chief Financial Officer

Michael Cunniff brings more than twenty years of experience in finance, strategic operations and business development to TuneUp Media. Throughout his career, he has lent his expertise to several early-stage and start-up ventures, many of which he led through acquisition, including Ludic Labs (acquired by Groupon), Truveo, a video search company (acquired by AOL), and ContentNext Media, a digital media company (acquired by Guardian News and Media). Prior to working with these organizations, Michael held a number of senior leadership roles at Inktomi Corporation, the last of which was Vice President and General Manager of Content Networking Solutions, where he was retained by Yahoo! after it’s acquisition of Inktomi. Michael also held a variety of financial and operations positions for Hitachi Data Systems over his ten year tenure there.

Michael holds a BA in Business Management from George Mason University. During his free time, he enjoys exploring different wines, coaching Little League and remembering not to mix the two activities.

Tim Mitchell, VP of Product Management

Tim is a twelve-year veteran in the ongoing convergence of technology and digital media. He began his career on the web, literally where it all began – at Wired Magazine’s “Hotwired”, the first ad-supported content portal and also pre-Google search innovator, HotBot. He went on to hold lead product management and director roles at Lycos, Terra, and CNET, where he focused on digital music, streaming video, and media software. After building his chops at larger media companies, Tim waded into the start-up world, where he held multiple executive roles at IODA, a leading digital distribution and marketing company for independent record labels. He’s been quoted in Red Herring, Billboard, Digital Music News, Wired.com, and Villagevoice.com; and he has spoken on panels at NARM, Winter Music Conference, CMJ, Digital Hollywood, and more.

Tim graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a BA in Economics. Outside of the office, Tim spends most of his time on his bike or on stage with his band.

Attiya Abdulghany, Director of Marketing

Attiya Abdulghany joined TuneUp Media shortly after its soft-launch in July 2008. As the Director of Marketing, her role includes overseeing the company’s customer acquisition efforts, product marketing strategy, user experience and social media initiatives. Prior to moving to San Francisco to join the TuneUp Team, she worked as a digital marketing consultant, providing both generalist and specialist services for a wide variety of growing companies in New York City. Attiya was also one of the early members of New Media Strategies, the industry pioneer and leader in social media marketing and measurement, which was later acquired by the Meredith Corporation. There she worked with accounts across a variety of verticals, including film and entertainment, automotive and consumer packaged goods.

Attiya graduated from American University with a BA in International Relations, with a concentration in Latin America and Spain. She currently lives in the Mission District of San Francisco with her miniature schnauzer, Oliver Gomez.
