The great thing about TuneUp is that you can clean your tags and get your cover art all from within the comfort of iTunes. Unlike other re-tagging apps, there is no need to re-import all your music into yet another application. The disadvantage is that TuneUp is limited by the capabilities of the "host" application and, in particular, by the programming interface that the host application exposes. One of the complaints our customers have about TuneUp is that it doesn't overwrite cover art. This is one of those cases where TuneUp is limited by the application programming interface (API) that Apple provides to developers. In this case, there is no instruction to remove ...
It's time again for the annual pilgrimage to the tech mecca of CES. TuneUp will be at the Gracenote booth (#31106 LVCC, South Hall) and at the Intel Booth (#7153 LVCC, Central Hall) as part of Intel's Turbo Boost Technology Demo. We'll be giving a sneak peak at TuneUp for Windows Media Player and other upcoming features. I will be wandering from booth to booth and in meetings. Come see us...stop by and say hi... Regards, The TuneUp Team

As a matter of fact, if the other suppliers haven't closed down our development accounts, somewhere on the engineering server here at TuneUp HQ are early versions that work with those other suppliers. It was a 3-4 month evaluation project that took some major agonizing and internal debate. Ultimately, we ended up creating a mongo spreadsheet that weighed a ton of criteria. They included but were not limited to the following criteria (which I give to you in random order): - Coverage (how many fingerprints are ...
A few months ago, in a previous blog post, I explained the complexities in trying to determine the original album from the results of a song lookup and showed some hidden preferences that can be edited to modify results. Here is another one that you can edit and may improve results. In the CD world, one of the indicators of a compilation is the number of tracks...most (non-Punk and Sound Effects) original albums have about 12 tracks...but compilations tend to have over 15... As part of the algorithm to find the original album out of all the results, we give higher priority to those albums that have less songs...The default for this value is a conservative 18. You ...
